Donation of 15 Powerheart® AEDs made throughout the 2007-08 NBA season
ORLANDO (April 15, 2008) – Minnesota Timberwolves forward Ryan Gomes announced today that he has completed the donation of 15 Automated External Defibrillators as part of the inaugural “Let the Beat Go On…” Awareness Tour. Throughout the 2007-08 NBA season, Gomes along with Cardiac Science Corporation (Nasdaq: CSCX) and Parent Heart Watch, donated AEDs to local schools, athletic facilities and recreations centers in select NBA-market cities while in he was in town with the Timberwolves.
“Along with Cardiac Science and Parent Heart Watch, I am pleased to have donated 13 AEDs during this season,” said Gomes. “Hopefully we were able to raise awareness to the serious issue of Sudden Cardiac Arrest as well as the need to have AEDs in public places such as schools, gyms, athletic facilities and recreation centers. In addition, I would like to thank the Minnesota Timberwolves and Dallas Mavericks for matching my donations so that we were able to place a total of 15 AEDs in communities throughout the NBA.”

About Hoops for Heart Health Hoops for Heart Health is a not-for-profit organization that was started to address the problem of Sudden Cardiac Arrest in high school, college and professional sports. With the help of college basketball coaches and cardiologists throughout the country, the mission is to first educate student-athletes about Sudden Cardiac Arrest, and then to support testing and the placement of medical devices, such as Portable Defibrillators, in gymnasiums and athletic fields around the country. Eventually the goal is to also provide support for families, teammates, classmates and coaches after an athlete has died from Sudden Cardiac Arrest.
