TIMBERWOLVES FORWARD RYAN GOMES TO DONATE POWERHEART® AEDs TO SIXERS ASSISTANT COACH AARON MCKIE AND THE BELFIELD RECREATION CENTER

Philadelphia 76ers team up with Parent Heart Watch, Cardiac Science Corporation, Youth Watch at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the American Heart Association to host “AED & CPR Awareness Night”

PHILADELPHIA (December 12, 2007) – Minnesota Timberwolves forward Ryan Gomes, Parent Heart Watch and Cardiac Science Corporation (Nasdaq:CSCX) announced today that a Cardiac Science Powerheart® Automated External Defibrillator (AED) will be donated to Philadelphia 76ers Assistant Coach Aaron McKie’s AM8 Foundation. The donation is a part of the “Let the Beat Go On…” Awareness Tour in which donations of AEDs are being made to local schools, athletic facilities and recreations centers in 12 select NBA-market cities throughout the season. Tonight’s donation is being made in conjunction with the Timberwolves visit to Philadelphia to play the Sixers. Through his foundation, McKie will provide the Powerheart ® AED to Belfield Recreation Center in North Philadelphia. The AM8 Foundation is currently raising funds to renovate Belfield, where as a youth McKie honed his basketball skills.

“I am pleased to donate a Powerheart ® AED to Aaron McKie’s AM8 Foundation for the Belfield Recreation Center,” said Gomes. “I hope that through the AED donations Parent Heart Watch, Cardiac Science and I are making this season we can help raise awareness about Sudden Cardiac Arrest and the importance of AEDs in public facilities.”

In addition, the Sixers are teaming up with Parent Heart Watch, Cardiac Science, Youth Heart Watch at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the American Heart Association to host “AED & CPR Awareness Night.” Funds from tickets sold to the game through these organizations will be donated to a fund to purchase an AED and CPR training for a selected school or recreation center in Philadelphia.

“I’d like to thank Ryan, Parent Heart Watch and Cardiac Science for this generous donation,” said McKie. “As someone with atrial fibrillation, I know how important it is to have AEDs in every recreational facility. I’m grateful that the children who participate in AM8’s basketball leagues and activities will have this important protection.”

Gomes’ non-profit organization, Hoops for Heart Health, announced a partnership with Parent Heart Watch in July 2007. Parent Heart Watch is a state-by-state network of parents dedicated to reducing the often disastrous effects of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) in children. The organization was founded by parents who have either lost a child to SCA or whose child is at known risk for SCA. The organizations share the common goal of raising awareness about SCA, with Gomes serving as the national spokesman for both organizations.

Cardiac Science’s Powerheart® brand AEDs provide reliable and safe cardiac monitoring and defibrillation therapy, and are designed to be the easiest to use AED available on the market. These factors ensure that if a sudden cardiac arrest occurs, the Powerheart ® AED will be ready to deliver life-saving therapy regardless of the skill of the caregiver.
